ENVIRONMENT CONSTRUCTION

environment_construction

The construction industry has an important contribution to make in improving the water and energy efficiency of the buildings it constructs.

We do not regulate the construction industry under Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC).

But we are looking to assist improvements in resource efficiency. Especially in:
  • reducing the amount of waste - including hazardous waste - it produces, and
  • increasing its waste re-use

    We are changing how we handle certain aspects of the land development and remediation and We want to encourage the remediation of brownfield land and the use of Cluster projects, and reduce the amount of material that is sent for disposal. Equally we have to ensure the necessary measures are in place to ensure the environment and health is protected.

    We are introducing an innovative sustainable development into Cameroon’s construction industry which is a considerable challenge, but success could bring quality-of-life dividends to those who live in towns and cities. Many issues have to be taken into account, from the use of ecologically sound building materials to assessing the environmental impact of urban development strategies. To encourage the take-up of sustainable practices in the construction industry, we have devised an environmental services and products that can be beneficial to home owners, building firms, highway construction companies and real-estate developers.

    We are keen to work with the construction industry from the start of projects. We can give important environmental advice and information, offer services and products which would save time and money later on.

    Our friendly services and products provide end users with the benefits as a valuable soil amendment that improves many soil properties such as; porosity, structural and thermal stability, water retention, resistance to wind and water erosion, and tillage.

    Below are six major segments for the services and products which have been identified as such ;
  • Agriculture (for food and nonfood crops and sod farms),
  • Landscapers (for industrial and commercial properties; golf courses, cemeteries, and athletic fields; landfill covers; and damaged soils),
  • Nurseries (for plant and forest seedling crops and reforestation projects),
  • Public agencies (for highway median strips, parks, recreational areas, and other public property),
  • Residents (for home landscaping to protect painted walls from washing off and last longer duration, and gardening),
  • Animal (for feed supplement product)
